This grant supports individual floor cushions that will to give students an option for working in a space, other than their desk, still 6 feet apart. It would allow them the opportunity for providing another learning structure that might help them stay engaged and feel that their individual learning needs are being met. Virtual Mission to Europa via the Christa McAuliffe Center Rebecca Edelman This grant supports virtual missions and space camp experience for students. In a normal year, this would’ve been a field trip to the Christa McAuliffe Center Framingham State. These virtual missions will focus on teamwork, problem solving, communication, and decision making, which are all skills that are vital for student success in learning. Clarke Table Tennis Project George Shannon This grant supports the Clarke PE team with their effort to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and adaptations. Table Tennis will be added to the PE curriculum as an option for a less intense and inclusive activity while still allowing students to learn motor skills and fitness concepts. Clarke K-5 Phys. Additional Classroom Libraries to Bring Books to RLA Students Caitlin Ahern, Coordinator of Professional Learning & Special Projects This grant pays for libraries for the newly created and unexpected RLA classrooms across three elementary schools. Having regular access to a range of interesting, engaging, books at the appropriate reading level is critical to developing strong reading skills and a love of books.
